The Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings game which is the 32 league game of IPL 2021 is all set to be postponed after three members from the CSK camp tested COVID positive. The Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Mumbai Indians game is on as per schedule. As per reports, the entire CSK squad has been put in hard quarantine thus eliminating the possibility of a contest. The step was taken after CSK bowling coach Laxmipathy Balaji was tested positive and was in contact with the players.

A BCCI official confirmed the postponement of the RR vs CSK game after positive COVID reports from the CSK camp. 

As per reports, the entire CSK squad has been put in hard quarantine thus eliminating the possibility of a contest. The step was taken after CSK bowling coach Laxmipathy Balaji was tested positive and was in contact with the players.

Meanwhile, CSK CEO Kasi Vishwanathan also confirmed that the entire CSK squad have been asked to go under isolation after bowling coach L Balaji tested positive. 

Chennai Super Kings vs Rajasthan Royals Game Postponed

“As per the rules, if there is a positive case in the team, the players have to quarantine for six days. So we have gone into isolation. We’re waiting for the BCCI advisory,” team CEO Kasi Viswanathan told Cricbuzz on Tuesday morning while also clarifying that contrary to reports his RT-PCR test has come negative. 

According to news agency PTI, Wednesday’s match is set to be cancelled after Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday was also announced to have been postponed following news that a couple of KKR players have been infected with the virus.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals have also been asked to quarantine themselves after playing their last game against KKR on April 29. The instruction is understood to be taken because Delhi played against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 29, whose players tested positive on Monday, May 3.
