Former Pakistan skipper Ramiz Raja has backed Virat Kohli’s men to get the better of England in the upcoming Test series which is a part of the World Test Championship. India is currently leading the points table with 430 points (71.7%). England are placed fourth on the table currently with 412 points(68.7%). A win for either side in the series will guarantee a place in the WTC finals. New Zealand have already reached the finals after the series between South Africa and Australia was postponed.
Meanwhile, Talking to Youtube channel Cric Cast, Ramiz Raja said that India will comfortably beat England in the upcoming series despite England’s recent experience of playing in almost similar conditions in Sri Lanka.
Ramiz Raja Backs India To Beat England
“I have no doubt India will defeat England although the visitors have got good practice in Sri Lanka for playing against spin. This is not the same England team as before where they used to get hardship allowance to tour the sub-continent,” Ramiz Raja said.

England skipper Joe Root is coming off a special series against Sri Lanka. He scored 426 runs at 106.50 including 228 and 186 respectively. He looked the best England batsmen on the tour and against India too, Root is expected to be the glue in the otherwise inexperienced batting line-up. He will be playing his 100th Test when India take on England in the first Test in Chennai.
England play India between February 5 to March 28 for four Tests, five T20Is, and three ODIs. Chennai will host the first two Tests. The final two Tests will be played at the newly built stadium in Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad will host the T20I series followed by Pune for the ODI series.
Numerous records and stats are expected to be broken in the series with Indian skipper Virat Kohli lining up a few. India Beat England 4-0 the last time these two teams played a Test series in India.
