Former Pakistan skipper Ramiz Raja has praised Indian skipper Virat Kohli for backing Ishan Kishan. Kishan was handed his T20I debut cap in the second game against England. he scored 56 off 32 and laid the foundation for the India team with his skipper. They added a 94-run stand to lay the platform and Kohli finished the game off with a six. India won the game by seven wickets and with 13 balls to spare.

Meanwhile, Ramiz Raja has hailed the Indian skipper for backing Kishan and promoting him to open the innings. Kishan opened the innings in place of Shikhar Dhawan with KL Rahul.

“Virat Kohli looked in fine form but with the bat my hero was debutant Ishan Kishan. He has plenty of potential and talent and played with freedom. And I think he has come into a brilliant environment where he has a captain who applauds all his shots from the non-striker’s end,” Raja said on his YouTube channel.

Ramiz Raja further said that Ishan Kishan is a game-changer who backs his shots and his abilities.

“He does a lot of power-hitting. He doesn’t have much height but he times the ball sweetly. He believes his sixes, not fours. He is a game-changer.”

Meanwhile, the final three T20I will be played behind closed doors as a precautionary measure given the increase in COVID-19 cases around the country. The decision was arrived at overnight after a conversation between the BCCI and the Gujarat Cricket Association.

“The decision was arrived at following detailed discussions with the state and local health authorities. The BCCI will continue to comply with all the regulations put in place to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus and will always put the health and safety of its fans and stakeholders at the top” the BCCI added in a statement.

The GCA further promised that the money will be refunded back to the spectators who bought the tickets for the third game.
