Ranji Trophy 2017/18, 5th Round: Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh & Jammu and Kashmir register wins

Jammu and Kashmir have defeated Jharkhand to register their first win of this year Ranji Trophy. Vidarbha outplayed Bengal by 10 wickets to register bonus point. The other matches ended in a draw.

Uttar Pradesh began the day on 229 for 2. They declared their innings on 357 for 6. In their second innings, Assam scored 148 for 4 before both captains decided to call off the match.

Delhi began the last day on 277 for 4. It was a great bowling display by Karnataka bowlers to dismiss Delhi for 301. Karnataka ended the day on 235 for 3. KL Rahul scored 92.

Railways began the last day on 330 for 5. They added 41 runs and were dismissed for 381. Maharashtra declared their innings on 186 for 6. In second innings, Railways called off the match at 54 for 1.

Haryana declared on their overnight score of 179 for 5. Rajasthan struggled and scored 59 for 7 before the bad light play resulted in a draw.

Gujarat started the day on 304 for 4. Saurashtra bowlers created pressure on Gujarat batsmen and dismissed them for 413. Saurashtra ended the day on 98 for 1.

Jammu and Kashmir started the day on 246 for 7. They added 19 runs and declared their innings on 265 for 9 declared. Chasing the target of 349 runs, Jharkhand were dismissed for 243. Ishan Kishan was the top scorer with 52. For Jammu and Kashmir, Rasool and Aziz picked 5 wickets each.

Siddesh Lad saved the day for Mumbai scoring 70 not out. At the end of day, Mumbai scored 260 for 7 wickets. Baroda earned 3 points.

The match between Odisha and Tamil Nadu was a thrilling one. Starting the 3rd day on 286 for 4, Odisha batsmen played well. Odisha scored 533 for 9 and helped them to register 3 points.

Goa started the day on 108 for 3. DW Misal picked 7 wickets and helped bowl Services for 190. Chasing the target of 184, Goa scored 128 for 4.

Andhra Pradesh began the last day on 51 for 1. Ricky Bhui and Sumanth scored 39 each. AP declared their innings on 234 for 4.

Bengal started the last day on 86 for 3. Sudeep Chatterjee scored 82 while Saha made a quick fire 97. They were dismissed for 306. Vidarbha won the match by 10 wickets.

Uttar Pradesh began the day on 229 for 2. They declared their innings on 357 for 6. In their second innings, Assam scored 148 for 4 before the captains decided to call off the match.

Delhi began the day on 277 for 4. It was a great display of bowling by Karnataka bowlers to dismiss Delhi for 301. Karnataka did not enforce the follow-on. Karnataka in their second innings scored 235 for 3.

Railways started the 4th day on 330 for 5. They added 51 runs and dismissed 381. Maharashtra made 186 for 6 before declaring. In their second innings, Railways scored 54 for 1 before calling the match off.
