Ranji Trophy 2017/18 Quarterfinals: Karnataka register innings victory against Mumbai & Progress into the semi-finals

Karnataka has made into the semi-finals of the Ranji Trophy 2017/18 with an innings and 20 runs. They bowled out Mumbai for 377.

Bengal is one step away from the semi-finals stage. Starting the 4th day on 177 for 1, WB Chatterjee is still not out on 213 and Easwaran 114 have led the way. At end of day 4, Bengal has scored 483 for 4.

The match between MP and Delhi is headed for an interesting finish. Starting the day on 47 for 2, MP lost wickets at regular intervals. PM Datey and Harpreet Singh scored runs. They were bowled out 283. Chasing the target of 217, Delhi ended day 3 on 8 for 0.

Vidarbha started the day on 77 for 1. Faiz Faizal and Wankadhe scored centuries which have put them in a commanding position. They ended on day 4 at 431 for 6 with a lead of 501 runs.

Karnataka reached the semi-finals of Ranji Trophy 2017/18 season with an innings and 20 runs win over Mumbai. Starting the day on 120 for 3, Surya Kumar Yadav scored a century while Parker, Shivam Dubey made good contributions but could save Mumbai from losing.

1st quarterfinals Bengal vs. Gujarat ( Jaipur)

Bengal has done well on the 4th day. Starting the day on 177 for 1, WB Chatterjee is still not out on 213 and Easwaran also scored a century to put Bengal in a commanding position. They ended the day on 483 for 4.

Bengal 354 in 111.5 overs ( Easwaran 129, Majumdar 94, AA Gani 49, B Amit 36 IH Chaudhary 5/87, CT Gaja 3/93) and 483 for 4 in 169 overs ( Easwaran 114, WB Chatterjee 213*) lead Gujarat 224 in 74.5 overs ( BH Merai 67, Parthiv Patel 47, Piyush Chawla 43, B Amit 3/53, Ashok Dinda 3/48, IC Porel 3/64) by 613 runs.

2nd quarterfinals Delhi vs. Madhya Pradesh ( Vijayawada)

Starting the 4th day on 47 for 2, PM Datey and Harpreet Singh were top scorers for MP. They were dismissed for 283. Chasing the target of 217, Delhi ended on 8 for 0.

Delhi 405 in 119.4 overs ( Chandela 81, DR Shorey 78, Himmat Singh 71, Mihir Hirwani 5/89) and 8 for 0 in 3 overs need Madhya Pradesh 338 in 124.1 overs ( AS Dane 59, Naman Ojha 49, Harpreet Singh 107*, Vikas Mishra 3/58, Manan Sharma 4/46) and 283 in 105.5 overs ( Harpreet Singh 78, PM Datey 60, Vikas Mishra  4/59) 209 runs to win.

3rd quarterfinals Kerala vs. Vidarbha ( Surat)

Vidarbha is also one step away from the semi-finals. Starting the day on 77 for 1, Faiz Faizal and Wankhade scored centuries which have put them in a commanding position. They ended day 4 on 431 for 6. For Kerala Jalaj Saxena took 3 wickets.

Vidarbha 246 in 105.3 overs ( Wadkar 53, Sarwate 36, KC Akshay 5/66) and 431 for 6 in 124 overs ( Faiz Fazal 119, Wankadhe 107, Jalaj Saxena 3/106) lead  Kerala 176 in 61.5 overs ( Jalaj Saxena 40, Samson 32, Gurbani 5/38) by 501 runs.

4th quarterfinals Karnataka vs. Mumbai ( Nagpur)

Mumbai starting the day on 120 for 3, Surya Kumar Yadav scored a brilliant century, Parker 65 and Shivam Dubey 71 was not enough for the 41 time Champion

Karnataka 570 in 163.3 overs ( Mayank Agarwal 78, R Samarth 40, CM Gautam 79, Shreyas Gopal 150*, Shivam Dubey 5/98, Shivam Malhotra 3/97 ) beat Mumbai 173 in 56 overs (Dhawal Kulkarni 75, Herwadkar 32, Vinay Kumar 6/34) and 377 in 114.5  overs (Surya Kumar Yadav 108 , Shivam Dubey 71, Gowtham 6/104) by an innings and 20 runs.
