Team India all-rounder Shardul Thakur is set to be out of action for two weeks as he recovers from an ankle injury he suffered during India’s tour of South Africa last month. He will miss Mumbai’s upcoming Ranji Trophy 2023-24 match against Kerala in Thiruvananthapuram.

Shardul Thakur last played a match during the test series against South Africa at Centurion. He performed well with the bat in the match, but couldn’t make an impact with the ball. Mukesh Kumar replaced him in the playing XI for the second Test match. However, there was no mention of Shardul Thakur’s ankle injury.

Shardul was expected to lead Mumbai’s bowling attack in the Ranji trophy match against Kerela. However, due to prolonged recovery, he informed the selection committee of his unavailability. Ajinkya Naik, the the Mumbai Cricket Association secretary, said to Sportstar,

“He has informed the MCA that he will take two more weeks to recover. We are also waiting for an official communication from the NCA (National Cricket Academy).”
