Karanakta captain Mayank Agarwal has been rushed to the hospital travelling due to a burning sensation in his mouth and throat. He was swiftly admitted to the ICU in Agartala for medical care. He is currently leading the side in the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy season. Karanakta registered a closely fought win over Tripura in Agartala and moved to the 2nd spot in the points table.

Agrawal expressed discomfort with a burning sensation in his mouth and throat with an emergency trip to the hospital. Mayank Agarwal was raised after consuming that contained harmful substance that led to the problem.

The incident occurred on Tuesday when Agarwal was travelling from Agartala to Surat via New Delhi for their fifth-round match against Railways starting on Friday. He was deplaned from the plane and rushed to the hospital after vomiting inside the craft despite the rest of the Karanakta squad continuing their travel.

He is set out of danger as his health conditions will be monitored. Karanakta State Association and Tripura Cricket Association doctors are attending to Agarwal. Agarwal will undergo a few tests before he might return to Bangalore over the next couple of days for further examination for the problem. This makes him unavailable for the important tie against Railways.

In a press statement, IndiGo confirmed that the flight had to return to Agartala due to a medical emergency: “IndiGo flight 6E 5177 operating from Agartala to Delhi returned to origin due to a medical emergency onboard. The passenger was offloaded and was rushed to the hospital for further medical assistance. The aircraft took off again for its destination at 1620h.”
