The dashing right-handed batter Riyan Parag scored 2nd successive century on the 3rd day of the 2nd round match against Kerala in Guwahati on 14th January 2024. Riyan Parag looked in sublime form right from the word go against Kerala bowlers. He came at the crease with Assam struggling at 25 for 3.

Parag showed intent in putting pressure on the opponent bowlers. Despite losing wickets at the other end, Riyan looked in great touch not allowing them to settle, and kept hitting shots. Rishav Das was the next best top score for Assam with 31. Riyan Parag showed his class smashing Kerala bowlers all over the park. He smashed his 2nd successive century and kept his superb form during this season so far.

Riyan Parag was eventually dismissed by 116 off 125 balls with 16 fours and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 92.80. Despite his brilliance, Assam ended the 3rd day in deep trouble with the scoreboard reading 231 for 7. Akash Sengupta and Mukhtar Hussain are still at the crease. They need 39 runs to avoid the follow-on.

Assam still trails Kerala by 188 runs at the end of day 3. Riyan Parag showed his class with the second-fastest century against Chhattisgarh in a first-round match at Raipur. He made a sensational 155 off 87 balls with 11 fours and 12 sixes that helped Assam not lose the match by an innings defeat.

Kerala posted 419 runs in the first innings after impressive knocks by Sachin Baby, Rohan Kunnumal Krishna Prasad, and Rohan Prem. Sachin Baby made 131 while Kunnumal made 83, Krishna Prasad 80, Rohan Prem half-century.

Riyan Parag has been in sensational form with some lovely performances in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He made 552 runs from 9 matches (9 innings) during the 2022-23 season with 3 centuries and 1 half-century including the best score of 174.

Riyan Parag was released by the Rajasthan Royals franchise before the 2024 auction. He would look to continue his superb form in the upcoming matches for Assam in the Ranji Trophy 2024. Riyan Parag has led from the front being the leading run-scorer with two back-to-back centuries.
