Rashid Khan was recently in the news after he turned down the offer to captain Afghanistan Cricket Team in T20I’s. He feared it might affect his performance as a player, which he feels is more crucial to the team. And rightfully so. The ace spinner has picked up 269 wickets for Afghanistan in all the formats, at a stunning average of 16.96.
In recent times, the pandemic has taken over. This has meant that the cricketers have a lot of time at hand. Some of them spend time with their family, while some interact with fans on social media. Rashid Khan went for the latter.
Rashid Khan doesn’t hide his feelings. He exhibits the no-holds-barred and honest-to-god type of persona. In a recent Q&A session with the fans on his Instagram account, a user asked “Shadi kab kar rahe ho?“, which pretty much translates to “When are you marrying?“.
The witty Rashid Khan, who plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, had this for an answer.
It translates to “Do you want to come?”. The cheeky spinner has had such incidents before. Not to mention along with his cricketing skills, Rashid was recently seen singing in a video he uploaded. The man is truly multi-faceted.
Rashid Khan to be next playing in PSL
Rashid Khan will next be seen playing for Lahore Qalandars in the second half of PSL 2021 in Abu Dhabi. He will then fly to the UK for the Vitality T20 Blast.
The spin wizard will then turn up for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the UAE phase of the IPL, provided BCCI manages to schedule the tournament on time. If the window closes, he’ll be participating in the ICC T20 World cup to be held in India followed by a one-off test against Australia in November this year. He was recently appointed as the vice-captain of the Afghanistan side for the shortest format of the game.
