The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has already witnessed a couple of youngsters taking the centre stage for their franchise. Recently, former India international Ashish Nehra picked Devdutt Padikkal and Ravi Bishnoi as the impressive of the lot, who has shown character in IPL 2020.
Meanwhile, both these cricketers were making a lot of noises leading to the tournament. While Padikkal had some excellent outings in the domestic finishing among the top run-getters in the limited-overs tournament while Bishnoi was a star performer for India in the U-19 World Cup.
And rightly so, Devdutt Padikkal and Ravi Bishnoi have managed to live up to the expectations. The Royal Challengers Bangalore opener has already noted three fifties in the season, whereas, Bishnoi has led Kings XI Punjab’s spin attack.
Padikkal and Bishnoi have shown character – Ashish Nehra
Speaking on the Star Sports show Stay Connected, Ashish Nehra hailed both of them for standing up to the task. He also seemed excited and said Ravi Bishnoi and Devdutt Padikkal are two future stars.
“Ravi Bishnoi and Devdutt Padikkal, both have shown great character. As I said earlier, I would’ve liked Parthiv Patel to open, but that is out of the picture now. Looking at the future, I am impressed by Devdutt Padikkal and Ravi Bishnoi’s performance,” Ashish Nehra said.
On the other hand, former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar hailed Sunrisers Hyderabad’s, T Natarajan. The fast bowler has hit the yorker length at will and is among the top 5 bowlers to perfect the yorker length so far in IPL 2020.
“The yorker ball is the most difficult ball in this format, and that too when the ball is wet, despite that T Natarajan bowled in the previous match and sorted out SRH’s death bowling issue,” said Sanjay Bangar.
“I am really impressed by Natarajan. He is looking in good form and Natarajan will be my player of choice who has impressed me in the IPL,” he added.
