Ace Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is eyeing a personal milestone in the third Test match against England. It will be a pink-ball Test, the only second such game on Indian soil. The series is level at 1-all after England won the first Test and India bounced back in the second. The Indian off-spinner sits at the top with 17 wickets to his name in the series so far. Axar Patel playing his first Test in Chennai picked up seven wickets and Kuldeep Yadav picked two.
Ahead of the third Test, Ravichandran Ashwin sits on 394 wickets and is six short of the magical 400-mark. He will be the fourth Indian bowler to get to 400 Test wickets after Anil Humble (619), Kapil Dev (434) and Harbhajan Singh (417).

Ravichandran Ashwin Closing In On 400 Test Wickets
Ashwin, who played a pivotal role in India’s historic 2-1 series win versus Australia on their own soil, is now cashing in on home conditions in the ongoing four-match Test series versus England. Overall, Ashwin will become the 16th bowler to enter the 400-wicket club.
The Indian off-spinner has also been in decent form with the bat since the Australia series. He scored an unbeaten 39 to help India draw the Test in Sydney. Next at his home ground in Chennai, Ashwin scored a century and picked up eight wickets in the match to win the Man of the Match award.
Meanwhile, as per reports in PTI, the pitch at the newly built Moreta stadium is expected to be a turning track with Indian spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel reaping the rewards in Chennai.
Keeping in mind that the Pink-Ball swings more under lights, the thinktank is willing to play an extra seamer in place of Kuldeep Yadav. Kuldeep played Test cricket after a long gap of 3 years picking two wickets in the second innings on the fourth day.
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah automatically comes back after rest and the toss-up will be between Umesh and Mohammed Siraj for the third pacer’s slot.
