It was a surreal experience for any cricket fan who was glued to the TV screens on Day five of the Third Test between India and Australia. Ravichandran Ashwin played a pivotal role in helping India draw the match as he scored an unbeaten 39 off 128 deliveries.
Ashwin’s wife Prithi Ashwin revealed how Ravichandran Ashwin had a terrible back tweak and was in unbelievable pain. In addition to the already existing pain, during his 128 ball knock, Ashwin copped up a few blows on his chest off the bowling off Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc.
Other than this Ashwin had indulged in a war of words with Australian skipper Tim Paine. When Ashwin was batting against spinner Nathan Lyon, Pain murmured saying he can’t wait to see Ashwin bat at Gabba in Brisbane. To which Ashwin could have kept quiet to this but didn’t as he told Paine that he can’t wait to have him in India as it will surely be his last series.

The pain was such that he couldn’t even bend down to tie his laces which is why she is indeed amazed at what Ravichandran Ashwin pulled off at the end of Day 5.
“The man went to bed last night with a terrible back tweak and in unbelievable pain. He could not stand up straight when he woke up this morning. Could not bend down to tie his shoelaces. I am amazed at what @ashwinravi99 pulled off today,” Prithi Ashwin wrote on Twitter.
