Ravichandran Ashwin Is The Best Off-Spinner In The World Right Now: Brad Hogg

Ravichandran Ashwin with 67 wickets is the second-highest wicket-taker in the World Test Championship. He is just three short of equalling Pat Cummins and eventually getting past his tally of 70 wickets in the tournament. Ahead of the big final, Ashwin is India’s trump card be it in non-spinning conditions and Brad Hogg is expecting him to get more lethal with experience.

Talking To Times Now, Brad Hogg said that he is the best off-spinner in the world and can eventually get past Muttiah Muralitharan’s tally of 800 Test wickets.

“Ashwin is 34 now. I think he will probably play till 42 in Tests. I think his batting might drop off but he’ll be more lethal with the ball by the time passing by. I can see him pushing 600+ Test wickets at least. He might even break Muttiah Muralitharan’s record (of 800 Test wickets) as well” said Hogg.

The former Australian spinner hailed Ravichandra Ashwin as the best off-spinner in the world currently. He further said that Ashwin loves challenging conditions and he does not like to be beaten in a contest.

Brad Hogg Praises Ravichandran Ashwin

“He’s definitely the best off-spinner in the world right now but we can’t call him the greatest off-spinner of all time due to the change of rules and conditions. Ashwin doesn’t like to be beaten whenever he’s in a contest. He is someone you want to play against because you know that you’re going to be tested and you can test him as well” said Hogg on Ashwin.

Hogg also kept his views on Kuldeep Yadav’s recent struggles in international cricket. The chinaman has been majorly sitting on the sidelines since the last two years. Ravindra Jadeja’s Test comeback has made his comeback in the Test and limited-overs sides.

I would tell Kuldeep to not worry about what the other players are doing. Just enjoy their success and get right behind them but keep working on his own game. Because opportunity will come” Hogg concluded saying.
