The buzz surrounding IPL 2020 has reached the ultimate level after BCCI confirmed the commencement dates. After the Governing Council meeting on Sunday, the roads have cleared for the tournament to take place in the UAE. A lot of speculations were going around with the future of the 13th edition of IPL. But doors opened after ICC postponed the T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia. Although the tournament had to move out of India, the fans are keen to see their favourite stars back on the field.
Virat Kohli gears up for IPL 2020
And, Virat Kohli cannot control his calm as he has already started preparing for the mega event. He took to social media on Tuesday to share a photo with his teammates. The talismanic run-scorer used the countdown timer emoji to show that the countdown has already begun for IPL 2020.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli was last in action during the New Zealand tour. He didn’t had an exciting time as he struggled to put runs under his belt. The India skipper only managed one fifty from 11 innings as the Men in Blues went down in the ODIs and Test series.
Kohli will be desperate to hit the strides as Royal Challengers Bangalore still chase their first IPL trophy. Recently, former India batsman and commentator Aakash Chopra highlighted RCB’s chances in the UAE. The former cricketer believes it will be an outstanding chance for the Royal Challengers to end their barren run.
“Batting conditions would not have much of an impact. In fact, certain teams may start feeling better. RCB for example, because when the grounds are big your bowling is not exposed that much even if it is weak. RCB I think might actually do well,” Chopra said in his YouTube channel.
