Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have announced that their players and staff have safely arrived back in Bengaluru following the week-long suspension of IPL 2025. The tournament was paused due to escalating border tensions between India and Pakistan.
Following the suspension, players and personnel from all franchises have begun departing for their respective hometowns and countries. RCB were scheduled to face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Friday, May 9, at the Ekana Stadium.
The team was stationed in Lucknow when the suspension was officially declared. According to an Instagram update by the franchise, all players have now returned to Bengaluru and are in the process of heading to their individual destinations.
“Our players and extended staff have safely returned to Bengaluru and are now homebound to their respective cities and countries. 🙌 We’re deeply grateful for the swift coordination and support from the BCCI, local authorities, and the police who made this possible. 🙏🇮🇳 #PlayBold#ನಮ್ಮRCB#IPL2025,” read the Instagram post by RCB.

RCB’s strong performance in the ongoing IPL 2025 season
RCB have enjoyed a strong run in the IPL 2025 season so far. They currently sit in second place on the points table, with 16 points from 11 games—eight wins and three losses. Only Gujarat Titans (GT) are ahead of them, also with 16 points but with a superior net run rate.
Just one win away from securing a playoff berth, RCB are also in a solid position to potentially finish in the top two. The team will be aiming to maintain their momentum when the tournament resumes.
Prior to their scheduled match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), RCB were in red-hot form, riding a four-match winning streak that included a nail-biting two-wicket triumph over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at home.
