Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli was heavily trolled on Twitter after his message on celebrating a cracker-free Diwali. The message created a huge uproar on Twitter as h faced the heat with Twitter users bashing his for bursting crackers on his own birthday party in the UAE.

In a video posted on RCB’s official Twitter handle Virat can be seen celebrating his birthday and looking at the bursting of fire-crackers. Meanwhile, the franchise has issued a statement and clarified the entire matter and defending their skipper in the process.

In a tweet posted on RCB’s official Twitter handle, the franchise explained that the bursting of fire-crackers shown in the video is actually from UAE’s flag day celebration. They also added that RCB remains committed to protecting the environment in every way possible.

“Hope you are all enjoying a happy and peaceful Diwali with family and friends. To clarify, the fireworks shown in RCB’s recent celebratory video was archival footage of UAE’s Flag Day celebrations. RCB continues to work hard to protect the environment like we’ve over the years” said the message.

Meanwhile, RCB finished fourth in IPL 2020 after losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator by 6 wickets. Kohlu is currently in Australia and under quarantine period. India will play a full-fledged series against Australia starting with the ODIs and T20Is from November 27.

The four-match Test series starts from December 17. Adelaide will host the first Test which will be a day-night affair. Sydney will host the second Test, Melbourne the Boxing Day Test match and Gabba the New Year’s Test match.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli will return back after the first Test as he is expected his first child. He has been already granted paternity leave for the same. The Indian skipper informed the BCCI regarding the same in October. On the other end, Virat and Anushka shared the news about their new-born baby back in September.
