After more than two months of thrilling cricket action, the IPL 2025 season has reached its grand finale. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are all set to face off in the final showdown on Tuesday, June 3, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The champion team will be awarded a prize of ₹20 crore, while the runners-up will receive ₹13 crore.
Mumbai Indians (MI), who were defeated in Qualifier 2, will earn ₹7 crore, and Gujarat Titans (GT), who exited after the Eliminator, will take home ₹6.5 crore. Although four teams made it to the playoffs, only two have reached the final—and just one will lift the trophy and claim the top prize. Still, the financial rewards extend beyond the champion team.
While the winning side will celebrate with the prestigious IPL trophy and the largest cash prize, the other playoff teams will also receive significant monetary awards. In addition to PBKS and RCB, this year’s playoff contenders included the Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians.

RCB And PBKS Fight For First IPL Title In 2025 Final
The IPL final is always a major event, but this year’s clash is even more special because of the teams involved. Both RCB and PBKS have never won the IPL title in the tournament’s history. RCB have reached the final three times before—in 2009, 2011, and 2016—but ended up losing each time.
PBKS, meanwhile, made it to the final only once, back in 2014, where they were defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Tonight, one of these two teams will finally win their first IPL trophy, while the other will have to wait longer for their maiden title.
RCB secured their spot in the final by defeating PBKS in the first qualifier, while PBKS bounced back to beat MI in the second qualifier. With both teams hungry for their first championship, a thrilling and hard-fought contest is expected tonight.
