Another fresh season ahead for another new edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is on the verge, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clashing against the existing champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday, March 22, at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Thus far, RCB, Delhi Capitals, and Punjab Kings are the only three teams in the IPL that have entered the competition without any titles in any of its 17 seasons. Still, this franchise from Bengaluru has a fantastic loyal fanbase.
Three reasons why RCB can lift IPL 2025:
A Captain’s Calm

Rajat Patidar is the newly appointed captain of RCB. Patidar has exhibited his skills as a batter for RCB over the past few years, and now he is being made responsible for leading the franchise. He has captained in T20 format for 16 matches, winning 12 and losing 4. Patidar has a calm head, and in crunch situations, he can lean upon the experience of Virat Kohli.
Seamers Bring the Heat

Bowling has been a problem in the earlier years for RCB, and they have fixed it by luring in the experienced seamers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood. Both of them can swing the new ball and take wickets during the powerplay. They are also reliable options in death overs, capable of bowling yorkers and slower balls. Yash Dayal, who had an amazing comeback last season, is expected to make a solid trio, alongside Bhuvneshwar and Hazlewood.
Batting Depth

RCB’s batting department appears to have enormous depth this season. Apart from the destructive Phil Salt and talented Devdutt Padikkal at the top, they have Kohli and Patidar in the middle. The lower-middle order could be considered even more dangerous, with Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma, and Tim David expected to start the occasion. If all Royal Challengers batters ignite on all cylinders, they will be harder to beat.
