“Reward For All The Hard work and Patience” – Harmanpreet Kaur On India’s Historic Test Win Against Australia

Team India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is delighted with the historic Test win against Australia on Sunday, December 24 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. India defeated the visitors by eight wickets in the one-off Test match, securing their maiden Test win against Australia.

The hosts took a healthy first-innings lead of 187 runs, and then eventually won the match, chasing 75 runs comfortably on the final day of the Test. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur expressed that the win is the reward for the team’s hard work and patience. She also credited the support staff. Speaking at the post-match show, Harmanpreet Kaur said,

“It’s a reward for all the hard work we have done for so many years. Credit goes to all our support staff, especially our bowling coach and batting coach. We tried to keep things very simple. It’s a reward for all the hard work and all the patience. We thought if we can play some positive cricket, it can really help us.”

Harmanpreet Kaur hails India’s bowling unit

Team India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was all praise for the bowlers, who led them to a brilliant Test win against Australia. India bowled Australia out for 219 and 261 in the Test match. Sneh Rana was the pick of the bowlers with seven wickets in the Test match. She also won the Player of the Match award.

“We showed trust in our bowling unit and our support staff asked me to bowl and I got those crucial wickets at that time. Everyone in the team contributed, everyone was there to win the game for the team. Our bowling coach is telling them about how to take wickets and not be defensive. That’s really helping us,” said Harmanpreet Kaur.

After a fantastic Test win, India will host Australia for a three-match ODI series, starting on Thursday, December 28 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. This will be followed by a T20I series at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
