Rishabh Pant Aims To Do Something Different Against ‘Mahi Bhai’s’ CSK

Rishabh Pant will lead Delhi Capitals when they begin their IPL 2021 campaign against Chennai Super Kings on April 10 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. And Pant is eyeing to do something different to upstage his favourite ‘Mahi bhai’ to help the Capitals begin their campaign on a winning note.

Meanwhile, the Capitals will miss the service of their regular skipper Shreyas Iyer, who is out of the entire tournament with a dislocated shoulder and will be led by the young wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant. The Delhi Capitals management showed trust on the 23-year-old despite having the likes of Steve Smith, Ajinkya Rahane, and Ravichandran Ashwin in their ranks.

Will look to do something different against Mahi Bhai – Rishabh Pant

And the highly-rated wicketkeeper-batsman cannot wait to start his stint as a leader against his favourite opposition. Speaking ahead of the game, Rishabh Pant admitted that he has learnt a lot from MS Dhoni; however, will look to do something different against them to start IPL 2021 on a high.

“My first match as captain will be against Mahi (MS Dhoni) bhai. It will be a good experience for me as I have learned a lot from him. I have my own experience as a player as well.

“I’ll apply my own experience and the learnings from MS Dhoni, and try to do something different against CSK,” Pant was quoted as saying in a press release issued by Delhi Capitals,” he added.

Rishabh Pant is back from an excellent stint with the national side where he reclaimed his potential against Australia and England and would be keen to keep up the good run in the IPL. Pant, who has scored 2,079 runs in 68 IPL matches, said he would be working hard to give DC its maiden IPL title.

“…I am looking forward to making most of this opportunity. We haven’t won a title yet and I will try my level best to get a title this year. We’ve been playing nicely as a team from last two-three years and our preparations are going on well,” he said.

“Everyone looks in great frame of mind. Everyone is giving their 100 percent and is happy in the team environment, and that’s what you want as a Captain,” Rishabh Pant added.
