Rishabh Pant, one of India’s most dynamic cricketers, has taken a significant step in giving back to society. On the eve of the ODI series against England, he announced the launch of the ‘Rishabh Pant Foundation’ (RPF), a charitable initiative aimed at supporting the underprivileged. Pant has pledged to donate 10% of his commercial income to this foundation, emphasizing his commitment to making a difference in people’s lives.

Why Rishabh Pant Started the Foundation

Rishabh Pant revealed that he had been contemplating starting a foundation for quite some time. His journey from humble beginnings to international stardom has instilled in him a deep sense of gratitude. He sees this initiative as a way to give back to the community that has played a crucial role in his success.

“Everything I am, everything I have, is because of the beautiful sport of cricket. All I have is because of the life lessons it has taught me. I am fortunate and grateful to be in this position, and even more full of gratitude following my accident a couple of years ago,” Pant said in a video posted on social media.

He acknowledged that cricket has shaped his life and given him a platform to inspire others. His decision to start RPF was also influenced by a life-threatening accident he survived in December 2022, which reinforced his belief in resilience and gratitude.

What the Rishabh Pant Foundation Aims to Achieve

The primary goal of the foundation is to provide assistance to those in need, particularly in areas such as education, healthcare, and sports development. Pant expressed his desire to bring joy to people’s lives through this initiative, just as he does on the cricket field. One of the main objectives of RPF is to nurture young sporting talent, offering them the resources and opportunities they need to excel.

Pant added, “Thanks for your love, blessings, and support. What I have learnt in life is to never give up and always keep smiling with hope. Now my aim is to bring more smiles to people with this, just as I try to do with my game. I have been thinking a lot about giving back, and what better time than now. Going forward, I will dedicate 10 per cent of my commercial income towards the Rishabh Pant Foundation. The RPF is a very dear project to me.”

Pant’s commitment to philanthropy could encourage other athletes to take similar steps in supporting their communities. With sports personalities increasingly engaging in charitable work, Pant’s move strengthens the role of athletes in driving social change.

Pant’s Remarkable Comeback After His Accident

In December 2022, Pant survived a severe road accident, suffering multiple injuries that put his career in jeopardy. Despite the odds, Pant made a stunning comeback during IPL 2024, proving his resilience and determination. Months after his return, Pant was part of the Indian team that lifted the T20 World Cup under Rohit Sharma’s leadership.

After not being retained by Delhi Capitals, Pant was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for a record-breaking Rs 27 crore in the IPL 2025 auction. He is set to lead the Super Giants in the upcoming season.
