Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant provided an injury update on his recovery journey, signalling his determination to regain fitness for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). Sharing a gym session on Instagram, the left-handed wicketkeeper showcased his commitment to returning to the cricket field after a hiatus since December 2022 due to a vehicle accident. Pant’s resilience is evident as he steadily works towards making a comeback this year.

The anticipation of Pant’s return heightened in November when he attended a Delhi Capitals camp in Kolkata, joining key team figures like Sourav Ganguly, Ricky Ponting, and Pravin Amre. The wicketkeeper actively participated in discussions related to player retention and release ahead of the IPL auction. His presence extended to the IPL mini-auction in Dubai, where he provided insights into his recovery process.

Expressing gratitude for the support from fans, Pant emphasized the significance of their love as he strives to attain peak fitness. With his dedication evident in both his social media updates and active involvement in team activities, cricket enthusiasts eagerly await Pant’s return to the pitch, anticipating a triumphant comeback in the upcoming IPL.

Rishabh Pant said: “I think [I am] much better [compared to] what I was doing a few months ago. Still on recovery to 100 per cent, but hopefully, in a few months I will be able to do that. It has been really amazing because whenever we are playing, we feel no one loves us. After all, there is always pressure and so many things. Yes, it is a hard time but I came to know people love us, respect us and the kind of appreciation and concern people have shown over a while because of my injury.”

“It was heartfelt – crazy for me – because it means a lot as an individual when you are going through a very rough time. It is not only physical [recovery], it is mentally also and if your supporters and the people support you and love you, it means a lot, and it really helps in recovery.”
