Robin Uthappa”s fitness goals will inspire you to hit the gym

Robin Uthappa might not be in the Indian team right now. He might be out of the scheme of things off late. However, that hasn”t deterred Robin Uthappa from working hard to claw his way back into the Indian team.

Robin Uthappa posted videos and pics on his Instagram account where he was seen doing his fitness drills in North Carolina. The 31-year-old is sweating it out and is very keen on making a grand comeback. In a post dated 29 June, he is seen lifting weights. Then in another post dated 4 July, he is seen working on his running.

Robin Uthappa last played for India on 19 July 2015 in a T20I against Zimbabwe at Harare. The 31-year old batsman has played 46 ODIS and 13 T20Is for India.

Robin Uthappa made his First-Class debut for Karnataka in 2002-03 as a 16-year-old and has played101 first-class matches for Karnataka scoring 6865 runs including 18 centuries and 33 half-centuries. In 2014-15 he was the leading run scorer in Karnataka”s Ranji Trophy title. He has, however, switched sides this season and is going to represent Kerala.

Robin Uthappa has played various roles in the sides he has played for right from opening the batting, batting in middle order playing the role of a finisher and even keeping wickets. He has been often overlooked by national selectors despite having stellar performances in First-Class cricket.

With still a good number of years of cricket left in him, the shift to Kerala provides him another opportunity to make it count and comeback into the Indian side.
