Mumbai Indians will face Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi and MI skipper Rohit Sharma is just 90 runs away from getting to 5000 runs in the IPL. He will become just the third batsmen to the feat if he gets their. Virat Kohli (5426) and Suresh Raina (5368) are the only other batsmen with above 5000 runs in the league.
Rohit has scored 4910 runs in the IPL at an average of 31.47. He has hit 36 fifties and one hundred in the process. He is also sitting at 194 sixes in the IPL and has a chance to go past 200 against KKR. If he does so, he will join Chris Gayle (326), AB de Villiers (214), and MS Dhoni (209) in the list.

Rohit Sharma- In Love With KKR
Rohit scored just 12 against CSK will be playing his favorite opposition in the IPL in terms of runs scored. He has tasted success against KKR in the past with scores of 109* and 99. He has scored 824 runs against KKR with five fifties and one hundred to his name.
Mumbai Indias are yet to win a game in the UAE. They lost all their five games in 2014 and started their new season with another loss against CSK.
However, Mumbai have the upper hand over KKR in the IPL. The head to headcount between the two teams reads 19-6 in Mumbai’s favour.
It was Andre Russell, who single-handedly won the game for KKR when the two teams last met at the Eden Gardens in 2019. He scored a 40-ball 80 power KKR to 232.
MI pacer Trent Boult has said in the build-up to this game that he is looking to bowl to the KK power-hitter.
“He is one of the most destructive batsmen in the game at the moment, and therein lies the challenge. That’s personally why I play the game. I like to take on the big players and take their wickets. I’ll be looking forward to that challenge,” Boult said ahead of the contest.
