Team India opener Rohit Sharma enjoyed a dream run with the bat in 2019 and carried his brilliant form in the new year. After a few mild outing in the first two T20Is against New Zealand, he was at his best during the third outing in Hamilton. He played a swashbuckling knock of 65 runs and in the process achieved a massive milestone. 

The dashing opener from Mumbai was raring to go after failing to impress in the last two matches despite India winning both the games. And Rohit Sharma came to his self in the third game dispatching the Kiwi bowlers at will. He gave India a blistering start adding 89 runs for the first wicket in just nine overs alongside KL Rahul, who was coming from the back of two back to back half-centuries.

Rohit Sharma's 40-ball 65 runs knock including three sixes and six boundaries saw him become the fourth Indian opener to scale 10000 international runs. The Team India vice-captain joins the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, and Sunil Gavaskar in the illustrious list of openers. Rohit, who began his international journey as a middle-order, was promoted to the top-order in 2013, and since then, he hasn't looked back. 

 India register their first T20I series win in New Zealand

Hamilton witnessed a cracker of a game with India winning the match along with the series in the super over. New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson was brilliant with the bat as he single-handedly took his side almost over the rope with a fine knock of 95 runs from 48 deliveries. But Mohammed Shami made a scintillating comeback to defend nine runs from the final over to take the game to the super over. 

Williamson kept up his brilliant display to set a target of 18 runs but Rohit Sharma was too good to overpower New Zealand and take India home. He smacked two consecutive sixes off the last two deliveries of Tim Southee to sail past the target and help the Men in Blues pocket the series with two matches to go.
