Indian dashing opener Rohit Sharma led his side successfully against the Windies side in the recently concluded T20 series. His brilliance with the bat in the entire limited overs format this time has been scintillating as he scored over three centuries in the short ‘home’ series. Rohit added several feathers to his cap with a few being the second maximum sixes for India in ODI’s, a highest run-getter for India in shorter formats etc.
Rohit has now been rested for the unofficial test match series against New Zealand ‘A’. It is to be noted that he was named in the side for the first test. However, the BCCI has now chosen to rest him considering his workload in recent times. Siraj, Mayank Agarwal and the entire team has reached Mount Maunganui and Rohit will now straightaway depart for the T20I series with the Indian team on November 16th.
Rahane is all set to lead the side that includes the likes of Prithvi Shaw, Vijay, Vihari and Parthiv Patel who are already named for the four-match test series against Australia. This series will really be a practice for the test regulars who will be looking forward to performing better in the series down under.
Rohit Sharma also received a call for the test series after his dismal performance in Southafrican series. Several experts backed him over his consistent knocks in the limited overs and in all possibilities, Rohit will try to utilize this opportunity to the fullest to cement the spot in the side.
