Team India is likely to receive a massive boost as star batsman Rohit Sharma is on road to achieve full fitness and is likely to play the last two Test matches against Australia. With the visitors missing skipper Virat Kohli in the last three Tests, this will be massive news for the Indian fans.
Initially, Rohit was not named in any of the three squads when the BCCI announced the team last month. The batsman was nursing a hamstring injury and the selectors decided against including him in the squads. He, however, returned to action soon for Mumbai Indians and was later included in the Test squad. The right-handed batsman was not included in the limited-overs squad as a precautionary measure.
Rohit Sharma to travel to Australia
Rohit Sharma returned to India and joined the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru to begin his rehabilitation. While there were a lot of dilemmas and confusion on his participation for the tour, recent reports emerged that Rohit Sharma will be available for the series.

India Today reported that Rohit’s hamstring feels much better and could be on board to Australia on the 12th of December if he clears the assessment at the NCA on the 11th. He is likely to undergo a 14-day quarantine after landing down under and after a week’s training, Rohit should be ready for the third Test in Sydney from the 3rd of January.
Rohit Sharma has been in stellar form ever since he was promoted to the top-order in red-ball cricket. The swashbuckling batsman has amassed 2141 runs from 32 Tests at 46.54 with six centuries and ten half-centuries.
Meanwhile, the four-match Border-Gavaskar Test series commences from December 17 at Adelaide with the day-night Test.
