Rohit Sharma’s Childhood Coach Dinesh Lad Slams ICC Over Pull Shot Tweet

Star Team India opener Rohit Sharma recently took a sly dig at the International Cricket Council (ICC) for excluding him from the list of the best pull-shot player. And now the cricketer has got the support of his childhood coach Dinesh Lad, who rated India’s limited-over vice-captain as the best player of the pull shot at present.

With a lot of time by their side amid coronavirus outbreak, the governing body took to Twitter on Sunday and asked the fans which batsman, past or present, plays the best pull shot. The ICC gave four options to fans – Ricky Ponting, Sir Vivian Richards, Herschelle Gibbs, and Virat Kohli.

The apex body also posted a collage of pictures of Ricky Ponting, Virat Kohli, Sir Vivian Richards, and Herschelle Gibbs leaving it the to the fans to decide on the best candidate. Soon after that, Rohit Sharma had taken a jibe at ICC for leaving him out.

And now, the swashbuckling batsman has got the support of his childhood coach Dinesh Lad, who said that Rohit Sharma is the master of pull shot. Lad also went on to add that he is not picking up Rohit because he was his coach, but because he is actually the best puller in the world after Viv Richards but even better than Ricky Ponting.

Rohit Sharma is a master of this stroke (pull shot). He is even better than Team India captain Virat Kohli. This I am not saying because I am Rohit’s personal coach but according to me, he is the best puller in the world after Viv Richards. Even Ricky Ponting can be next to Rohit,” Dinesh lad was quoted as saying by bdcrictime.com.

“In the modern-day cricket, I rate Rohit as number 1 puller in the world. Most of the time he hits hard the ball in-front foot and takes the ball on the middle of his bat and that’s his biggest plus point,” he added.

Meanwhile, the star opener is currently out of action due to the injury he sustained in New Zealand. He was not a part of the ODI squad against South Africa; however, the break due to the coronavirus outbreak will give him time to recover and come back in full swing.
