The Royal Challengers Bangalore got off to a winning start in IPL 2021 as they defeated Mumbai Indians in a thriller in the season opener. The star for RCB with the bat was Glenn Maxwell and Ab de Villiers who smashed MI bowlers at will in the chase. It turned out to be a successful RCB debut for Glenn Maxwell as he played a match-winning knock and helped him side ear valuable 2 points.
When Maxwell was going all guns blazing the Royal Challengers Bangalore admin on Twitter decided to put the salt into the wounds of Punjab Kings. Maxwell in the last season played for the franchise but failed to hit even 1 six and he wasn’t retained ahead of the auction. However, in his very first for RCB, Maxwell hit a colossal 100 metres six much to the delight of all the fans of the popular franchise. The RCBc admin took a dig at Punjab Kings and thanked them for not retaining him for the ongoing IPL season.
Hilarious Banter Between Royal Challengers Bangalore And Punjab Kings
“First Maxi-mum in Red and Gold and he nearly hits it out of Chennai! Thank you @PunjabKingsIPL. We would hug you if not for social distancing”, Royal Challengers Bangalore tweeted.
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings also left everyone in splits with their epic reply as they wrote, “Aww, and thank you for Gayle, KL, Mandy, Sarfaraz, Mayank”.
The RCB admin took the banter a notch higher when he reminded Punjab Kings to thank the franchise for the jersey and logo too which look similar to RCB.
“You missed jersey, helmet, pads…and logo? But between us, who’s keeping count?”.
