The series between India A and Srilanka A has been a one to watch out for since the last couple of weeks. A lot of Indian young talents are proving their mettle in the middle as they whitewashed the test series 2-0.

What really matters is the margin of runs with which they defeated the opposition comfortably. The balance in the side helped them to work out all possible strategies on the field and come out in flying colours.

The five-match ODI series started yesterday and the Indian side yet again proved their dominance in the limited overs format. Particularly, Ruturaj Gaikwad. After a rain delay, the game at Belgaum was reduced to 42 overs per side due to a wet outfield. As an opener, Ruturaj started making a quick impact right from the start as he scored a brilliant 187 off 136 deliveries. His knock included 26 boundaries and two sixes.

India A side put up a score of 317/4 on the board and won the match by 48 runs despite Shehan Jayasuriya”s century. Ruturaj was awarded Man of the Match for his wonderful efforts and the Indian cricket fraternity is really happy with his performance. The five-match series will be played at two venues Belgaum and Hubli and the second match will take place on Saturday at Belgaum.

It is to be noted that he was roped into the Chennai Super Kings” side for this edition of Indian Premier League. However, he wasn”t given a run in any of the matches this year. His efforts over a period of time have been reaping rewards and it will be interesting if the CSK management will consider including him in the playing XI during the next season.
