The tainted Team India fast bowler S Sreesanth has finally accepted the reality that his chances of making a comeback to the national team are nothing but over. The fast bowler from Kerala last donned the national jersey in 2011 during the Test against England at the Oval.
He was tipped one of the long-term prospects at the highest level for the Men in Blues the 2013 Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing scandal turned his career upside down and he faded away. He has not played any competitive cricket ever since.

But the 37-year-old is still not ready to give up his chances. Although he understands that there are no realistic scopes to make a comeback but the ever-fighting S Sreesanth want to fight till the last breath.
“Realistically no, but as my father told me which I will always follow ‘never give up as long as you’re breathing’. I never believed in being realistic, from a small state called Kerala (not much history of great cricketers who represented India),” Sreesanth was quoted as saying in an interview with Cricket World.

However, the 53 ODIs and 10 T20Is veteran believes in miracles. S Sreesanth continues to believe that he will win the World Cup for India and is waiting for that miracle to happen in his life. Notably, he also was a part of India’s victorious campaign in the 50-over 2011 World Cup in India. The seamer played a couple of games, though he couldn’t pick up a wicket.
“I always believed I will play for India and win a World Cup and it happens as the bible says ‘This too shall pass’. Miracles happen every moment, believe,” he concluded.
