Discarded Indian pacer S Sreesanth, who was a part of two World Cup-winning squads under MS Dhoni, paid a rich salute to his never say die spirit after his fighting knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad in a losing cause. He scored an unbeaten 47 as CSK lost the game by just seven runs at the end chasing 165 to win. Courtesy this loss, CSK continues to stay at the bottom of the tournament.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni’s struggles in the last match has again sparked the ‘age-debate’ in cricket.MS Dhoni, aging 39, announced his international retirement on 15th August earlier this year. He was struggling to run between the wickets in the hot and humid conditions in Dubai.

Sreesanth Salutes MS Dhoni’s Fighting Spirit

At the end of the game, MS Dhoni spoke about the heat as well causing problems for the players who were a part of the game.

Meanwhile, Sreesanth expressed his gratitude for the spinner saying “Hats off to@msdhoni bhai..even in this heat keeping for 20 overs and then running (sprinting for his team) lots n lots of respect..now that’s what we call never ever giving up in toughest moments. Giving all in for his team#respect #cricket”

Though MS Dhoni found a batting partner in Ravindra Jadeja (50), CSK failed to chase down the target with 78 needed from the last four. MS Dhoni scored an unbeaten 47, still, the question that looms around is whether he could have batted higher.

Earlier in the game, the CSK bowlers leaked runs in the death overs and dropped catches in the outfield. This is something that made MS Dhoni really angry at the halfway point. He even blamed his fielders for missing easy chances in this crucial game.

“It’s the professionalism – dropping catches, bowling no-balls. We’re making the same mistakes again. After the 16th over, we had two bad overs. Overall we could have been slightly better. Nobody wants to drop catches, but at this level, you have to draw a line that these catches have to be taken”  said Dhoni
