Kuldeep Yadav in recent times hasn’t been able to cement his position in the Indian side. Now ahead of the Test series against England, Saba Karim has told Kuldeep to stay patient and use this time to work on other aspects of his game. The left-arm unorthodox spinner sat on the bench throughout the Australian tour and didn’t feature even in a single match.

Team India had many injury concerns during the Test series but Kuldeep Yadav still couldn’t make it in the playing XI. His confidence would have taken a beating when Washington Sundar was preferred over him in the decisive Test match at Brisbane.

Now, it is being assumed that Kuldeep will finally get his chance in the home Test series against England. Ahead of the series former cricketer, Saba Karim has advised Kuldeep to make the most of his free time and keep working hard on his overall game. Karim also wants Kuldeep to have a strong presence in the dressing room and always be ready to help his teammates.

“Be patient; work on your skills; keep working very hard. Keep enhancing your skill not only as a bowler but also a batsman. This is a time when you can work on your batting skills. Have a very strong presence in the dressing room. Always be there to help your colleagues,” Karim told SportsKeeda in an interview.

Meanwhile, Saba Karim also emphasised on the significance of team spirit in cricket. He pointed out that a player like Kuldeep who is unable to make the team should not be in a negative mindset but always be happy for the players performing on the field.

“Team spirit is when a player who is sitting out still prays for his competitor who goes out to play for his team. That’s the real definition of team spirit”.

“I have noticed on many occasions while playing first-class cricket that the player who sits out is not in a very happy frame of mind. He is waiting to get back on to the field to replace the player who is playing in place of him”, Saba Karim concluded.
