Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has recently praised Jasprit Bumrah saying that he is a champion bowler and has stood up for the team when required. Making his international debut in 2016, Bumrah has become the spearhead of the Indian pace attack in quick time. He has taken eight wickets in the two Test matches so far and holds importance to the bowling attack in the absence of Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav, who have been ruled out of the Test series.
Jasprit Bumrah Is a Champion Bowler: Sachin Tendulkar
Talking to PTI, Sachin Tendulkar said that Jasprit Bumrah has very soon become the leader of the Indian attack which is a sign of a champion bowler.
“In the fast bowling department, Bumrah as the leader of the attack has taken more responsibility and whenever the chips are down, he has pushed himself harder. That’s the sign of a champion bowler” said Sachin.
He further congratulated Mohammad Siraj on a memorable debut and credited Ajinkya Rahane for the way he handled the two debutants in Melbourne.
“Let’s also not forget how Siraj has also bowled. It did not appear to me that he was playing his first Test match,” said the batsman, who featured in 200 Tests overall. He added, “The way he bowled his first over and then built it up gradually but never did it look that he was playing his first match. The plans were well thought out. He executed it well. Both debutants (including Shubman Gill) were comfortable in the execution of their plans.”

India registered their fourth win at the MCG, which has now become their most successful overseas venue in Test matches. The Indian and Australian players will be travelling to Sydney for the third Test match on January 4. The five isolated players will also be travelling with the rest of the squad.
Meanwhile, all the players of the Indian squad have tested COVID-negative following their recent tests done in Melbourne before flying off to Sydney.
