Following the divorce of Indian tennis player Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, rumors started circulating online that Sania might marry Indian cricketer Mohammad Shami, who is also separated from his wife Hasin Jahan. However, Sania’s father Imran Mirza addressed these rumors in a recent interview and dismissed them completely.
Speaking to NDTV, Imran Mirza said his daughter had never even met Mohammad Shami and called the rumors “rubbish.” “This is all rubbish,” he said. He didn’t even meet her.” The rumors started after a photoshoot was shared on Facebook on June 12 this year.The picture from Sania and Shoaib’s wedding in August 2010 shows Sania in a red wedding dress with Shami’s face digitally inserted by Shoaib on the face.
Meanwhile, Sania Mirza recently appeared on the popular talk show, The Great Indian Kapil Show. During the show, he talked about “finding love interest.” In a clip for the new episode, host Kapil Sharma was joined by guests Mary Kom, Saina Nehwal and Sania Mirza. Kapil Sharma reminded Sania that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan once said that he would romance her if a film was ever made on her life.
To which Sania replied with a smile, saying, “Abhi mujhe pehle love interest dundna hai (I have to get the love interest first).” Sania Mirza added, “If Shah Rukh Khan plays my love interest, I will play the role (make him in my own biopic). And if Akshay Kumar plays the role, I will definitely do it.”
