Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, has reportedly become almost faultless in Test cricket, according to former Indian batter Sanjay Manjrekar. At the Kennington Oval on June 7, India and Australia will play in the World Test Championship final.
Almost faultless in Test cricket, according to Manjrekar, is Rohit. In the 2023 WTC Final, Australia and India will face off. On June 7, the Oval will host the WTC Final.
Sanjay Manjrekar, a former Indian batter, claimed that Rohit Sharma has become almost faultless in Test matches. At the Kennington Oval on June 7, India and Australia will play in the World Test Championship final.
Manjrekar stated that Test cricket appears to be the most exciting format for Rohit while also stating that we shouldn’t focus on his IPL performance prior to the WTC Final.
In 16 IPL 2023 games, Rohit amassed 332 runs, but Mumbai Indians were eliminated by Gujarat Titans in the second qualifier.
“Set aside his IPL form because he appeared out of form in the most recent IPL as well, but we saw the incredible batting he did in the first Test match against Australia”.
According to me, ”Rohit Sharma is at a point in his career where Test cricket, as it has always been for Virat Kohli, seems to be the most thrilling format for him”.
Manjrekar claims that in Test cricket, Rohit is almost faultless
Manjrekar noted that Rohit has a problem when playing the pull shot, but otherwise claimed that he has become almost faultless in Test cricket.
During India’s previous visit to England in 2021, Rohit amassed 368 runs in four Test matches at an average of 52 points.
Currently, in Test cricket, his batting has nearly perfected itself. There is only one issue that has come up in Test matches. Occasionally, he gets out while playing the pull shot. They have kept a fielder there while bowling him a short ball. Manjrekar continued, “That was an instinctive shot”.
Rohit, he continued, has a very low back lift because his power comes from the follow-through. In the 11 Test matches, Rohit has a strong record against Australia, scoring 650 runs at an average of 34.21.
“His pull shot is very intriguing to watch in ODI cricket. In order to play the ball down, he lifts his back from the bottom instead of the top. He just picks up the ball and moves the bat behind his back to add power with a very low back lift”, according to Manjrekar.
When India plays Australia in the World Tennis Championship final in London, they have a chance to win their first ICC trophy in almost ten years.
