Royal Challengers Bangalore has never won the IPL title since its inception in 2008. They reached finals thrice in 2009, 2011, and 2016. In the last three years, the RCB franchise reached the playoff stage.

Virat Kohli has been in the RCB franchise since the start of IPL. He showed his class with 973 runs from 16 matches ( 16 innings) with a record of 4 centuries to his name and helped RCB reach the finals of the tournament.

Under the captaincy of Faf du Plessis, Royal Challengers Bangalore finished 3rd in the points table losing against Rajasthan Royals in qualifier 2. Virat Kohli looked out of sorts during the initial phases of IPL 2022 but eventually made 341 runs from 16 matches ( 16 innings) with 2 half-centuries to his name. His best score in the tournament was 73 against Gujarat Titans.

“Yes, I feel Virat Kohli’s dream of winning the trophy will come true this time. They have a wonderful bowling attack. If Faf du Plessis scores runs, they will have a great chance,” Sanjay Manjrekar said while speaking to ESPNcricinfo.

Virat Kohli has regained his form after the Asia Cup 2022. He showed his class with centuries in the ODI format against Sri Lanka at home this year, a match-winning knock against Pakistan during the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, and then a century in the 1st innings of the 4th Test against Australia at Ahmedabad.
