England limited overs format captain Jos Buttler welcomed recruit Joe Root into the Rajasthan Royals team for IPL 2023 starting from tomorrow onwards.

Buttler has been a key member of Rajasthan Royals since 2018 while Joe Root is gearing up for his maiden IPL tournament. Jos Buttler presented Joe Root Rajasthan Royals T-Shirt. Root was bought by the RR franchise for a base price of Rs 1 Crore in the mini-auction.

He was hitting the nets for the first time after joining them and played sublime drives and scoop shots.

“The guy I’m introducing needs no introduction, I’m sure we’ve all watched Joe having an amazing career so far. And I know how excited you are to be a part of the IPL, how much you are gonna get from it, and how much you’re gonna give to the group,” Buttler said in a video posted by RR on social media.

Rajasthan Royals reached the finals of the IPL 2022 season but lost to Gujarat Titans in the grand finale of the tournament. They would be looking to win the tournament this season as will look to end the trophy drought after doing it in the inaugural season in 2008.

Jos Buttler finished as the leading run-getter last year with 863 runs including 4 centuries and 4 half-centuries to his name.
