Sanju Samson Wants to Change One IPL Rule, Misses Jos Buttler

Sanju Samson, the captain of Rajasthan Royals (RR) said he wants to change one rule of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Here’s the context. Samson, being an integral part of Rajasthan Royals over the years formed a close bond with Jos Buttler. Buttler, the English batsman and wicket keeper, played an important role for RR in the last few years. Buttler even clinched the orange cap during one of the seasons and gave RR flashy starts whenever he could as an opener.

But during the mega auctions, RR decided it was time to let Buttler go. This has hurt Sanju Samson at a personal level. Samson said that if he could change one rule, it would be this only. He misses Buttler in the team. Buttler will now play for Gujarat Titans.

According to a report from News24, Samson said, “Jos Buttler is like an elder brother to me. We played together for seven years and formed a strong batting partnership. We always stayed in touch. It was really hard to see him go.”

Buttler Helped Sanju Samson Transition to Captaincy Role

Samson said that when he took over as the captain, Jos Buttler helped him a lot as his deputy. While on a professional level, the rule of mega auctions has its benefits, at a personal level, players lose friendships and relationships built over years. Thus, this is one rule that Samson wants to change in the IPL.
