The BCCI has announced a 16 man T20I squad for the three-match T20 series against South Africa. Suresh Raina makes a comeback into the Indian team due to great form in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 domestic tournament. Suresh Raina last played his T20I match for India in the series against England at home in February 2017.
Virat Kohli will comeback lead the series after he opted to rest from the T20I series against Sri Lanka at home. Rohit Sharma, KL, and Shikhar Dhawan will act as openers in this team.  Captain Virat Kohli, Manish Pandey, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya would be the middle order batsmen in the South African series. Dinesh Karthik has been also named.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur and Jaydev Unadkat would comprise the pace bowling department. Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, and Axar Patel complete the spin bowling department. The Indian team looks strong with 3 T20I matches to be played on South African tour.
The Indian test team lost the test series against South Africa 1-2. Virat Kohli led team won the third test match at Johannesburg. It was a fighting series between top two test teams in the world.
Sheryas Iyer has been dropped from the T20I squad that played against Sri Lanka at home.
India will play South Africa in a 3 match T20I series. The first T20I match will be played at Johannesburg on 18th February, the second one to be played at Centurion on 21st and the final T20I match to be played on 24th February at Cape Town. It promises to be an exciting series between these two top teams in the world.
Before the T20I series, Men in Blue will take on South Africa in 6 matches ODI series from 1st February.
