Rohit Sharma has always been an enigma of sorts for Indian Cricket followers and people around the world.
Rohit is one of the most talented batsmen around and has been a vital cog in India”s wheels especially in the limited overs format.
Recently Rohit has gone through a very horrible passage of form in Southafrica for he was widely criticised. But today in the 4th one day international in Port Elizabeth, Rohit turned it all around hitting a brilliant hundred.
In what is Rohit”s 17th ODI hundred and one of his best, Rohit hit each Southafrican bowler around every corner of the St. George”s park.
Twitterati, as is the norm, turned their views with a new wind, many acknowledge Rohit”s efforts and his brilliant innings. Many though still took some fun jibes at him as he was involved in another run out with Virat Kohli and this time also with Ajinkya Rahane.
Many were actually anticipating the repeat of the coincidence of Virat getting run out while batting with Rohit and going on to get a double hundred. Would”ve been Rohit”s fourth such feat in ODIs if that had happened.
Twitter though was having all of it and more in this narrative, Rohit though played one of his best ODI knocks.
The knock was double important for Rohit because his record in South Africa coming into the game was very poor. But he”ll hope this is a start of him getting it corrected. This innings will remain though one of Rohit”s memorable ones as this has come in overseas conditions against a quality attack like South Africa involving Kagiso Rabada who had Rohit”s number right through the tour till now. There are still more games on the tour and in Rohit”s carrier left and twitter for sure will be watching all of it with wide eyes.
