The extra safety measures were put in place after a bomb went off near the famous Red Fort, which is only about two kilometers from the cricket stadium. Officials took the incident seriously and acted quickly to make sure that the players, staff, and fans at the important match were safe.

The explosion near the Red Fort made the news, but the main goal was still to keep the area safe so that the Ranji Trophy games could go on without a hitch. PTI says that the new security measures included more checkpoints and staff stationed all over the stadium grounds. This made it possible for the cricket community to keep playing without worrying about their safety.
Security to be beefed up near Arun Jaitley Stadium:
PTI reported on Monday (November 10) that security has been increased around the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi in preparation for the fourth and final day of the ongoing Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir. After a blast happened near the Red Fort, which is almost two kilometers from the sports venue, the security measure was put in place. Ashok Sharma, secretary of the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA), told PTI in a statement:
“Security to be beefed up near Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium (renamed Arun Jaitley Stadium) on the final day of the Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir. I would be getting in touch with Delhi Police authorities and request them to deploy additional security outside the stadium premises,” he added.
Reports say that a car parked near the Red Fort metro station exploded with a lot of force on Monday evening, killing eight people. At least 24 people have been hurt and are getting help at a nearby hospital.
