West Indies pace sensation Shamar Joseph will miss ILT20 because of a toe injury. He did well with a match-winning spell of 7 for 68 in the 2nd innings of the 2nd Test match at Gabba, Brisbane against Australia. He suffered an injury while facing a yorker against Mitchell Starc on the 3rd night. His brilliant spell of 7 for 68 helped West Indies stun Australia to win their first Test match on Australian soil after a gap of 27 years.

He will head home directly to recover from the toe injury that he suffered during the second Test match at Brisbane. Shamar’s injury was too serious that he will not take part in the International League T20 tournament that is currently going on in Dubai. Joseph was supposed to play for Dubai Capitals in 2nd edition.

“It is a balance. Look at Alzarri Joseph, he’s in the IPL and he has a lot of heart for Test cricket. He wants to be here. Today he was tired and he still came in those last two overs at the tail. Once you have a love for this game and this hard Test cricket, the right balance is key. I do believe we should be playing more Test cricket more consistently. Our next Test series is July 10, which is a long while away. So I believe we have talent and it shows the world that we are going to be competitive and win Test matches. But we need more cricket, and that’s my cry.”
