Mohammed Shami starred with the ball on his return as Team India drowned Australia by six runs in the first warm-up game at the Gabba on Monday, October 17. The veteran pacer recently landed in Australia after being named as Jasprit Bumrah’s replacement.

Shami who hasn’t played a T20I game since the previous T20 World Cup was called on to bowl the last over in today’s game. There were concerns about his lack of match practice, but the critics have been silenced.

Shami ended up picking three wickets and only conceded a mere four runs. The last four balls saw as many Australian batters going back to the dugout.  Shami was seen hitting the yorker length with ease which will give the Indian fans much relief.
