India are currently taking on defending champions Australia in a warm-up match at the Gabba in Brisbane on Monday, October 16. The Indian vice-captain, KL Rahul, scored a sublime half-century consisting of six fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 172.73.

He dominated the powerplay overs by taking the attack to the Aussie bowlers. Anything that was bowled a little short was put away to the boundary by him. He was seen playing the majority of the deliveries in the powerplay while Rohit Sharma was at the non-striker’s end.

Rahul’s shots were erratic, but he appeared at ease due to Gabba’s extra bounce. He tried to pull Glenn Maxwell for a six, but he was out, handing Ashton Agar an easy catch at the deep-mid wicket.

KL Rahul’s intent is crucial for Rohit Sharma and his team. They built India a strong foundation, adding 78 runs for the first wicket in just 7.3 overs before Rahul was dismissed.

India lost a few quick wickets in the middle overs of the game but managed to stay afloat, thanks to Suryakumar Yadav. Rahul scoring at a rapid pace is a positive sign for India ahead of the clash at Melbourne.

In response, Australia have got off to a flying start thanks to their captain. At the time of writing, the home side were at 158/3 after 17 overs, with Finch going strong at 70 off 49 balls.
