The Rohit Sharma-led Team India departed for Australia early morning on Thursday, October 6 from Mumbai ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The mega-tournament kicks off on October 16 with the qualifiers. After a disappointing campaign in the T20 World Cup last year, India will be keen to change their fortunes this time.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Friday shared a video on their social media platforms of the team as they jetted off to Australia. The players wore the official Team India blazer while departing for the tournament. They also clicked pictures, sharing them with their fans on social media.

Several Team India players and Head Coach Rahul Dravid obliqued fan requests for autographs and photographs. Wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik also cut a cake to mark the start of India’s T20 World Cup campaign.
