The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic has locked one and all in their homes. Most parts of the world are practising social distancing to curb the spread of the deadly virus. As a result, the current and former cricketers are no exception. They have resorted to social media engagement with their fans to bite their time.

Since it broke out in China, the COVID-19 has taken away more than 42000 lives across the world. Italy, Spain, United States of America, and China are the most affected countries with the death toll increasing with each passing day. In India also, the numbers have gone up drastically in the last few days.

Recently, the legendary spinner Shane Warne used this lockdown period to pick his favourite Indian XI against whom he has played. Warne went live on his official Instagram handle and picked his greatest India XI. And not surprisingly, he went with Sourav Ganguly as the skipper of the team. The former Aussie cricketer categorically mentioned that MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli will not be a part of the side as he has not played against them.

“I am only picking players that I played against and that’s why MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are not going to be a part of the side. While Dhoni is probably the greatest wicketkeeper-batsman to have played the game, Kohli is one of the greatest batsmen across formats,” he said.

Virender Sehwag and Ganguly were picked as the openers while the batting master Sachin Tendulkar slotted at No. 5. Navjot Singh Sidhu and Rahul Dravid – who have exceptionally well over the period for India were picked for first and second down.

India’s first World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev was the only all-rounder in the team while Shane Warne snubbed some big names to go with Nayan Mongia as the wicket-keeper for his side. Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble, who have done wonders bowling in tandem for the country found their place in the team while Javagal Srinath was the lone pacer.
