Former Australia leg spinner Shane Warne firmly believes that the Australian side will blow away the Indian side at the Melbourne Cricket Ground when the two sides go up against each other in the 2nd Test. The Indian side will edge into the 2nd Test without the services of Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami as both have flown back home to India.

After getting bowled out for a mere 36 in the 1st Test, the Indian team will be looking to bounce back at the MCG. Which is why it is expected that the likes of KL Rahul, Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja will be included in the squad to balance the squad after it has left a void with the absence of Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami.

Australia is going to blow India away: Shane Warne

Whilst speaking to Fox Cricket, Shane Warne said he thinks Australia are probably going to blow India away in the 2nd Test. Though he feels with the inclusion of KL Rahul and Shubman Gill in the side India can bolster their chances of putting up a fight against the Australians.

“I think Australia is probably going to blow them away, Having said that, they have some class players to come in like KL Rahul. Young Gill will come in. (Ajinkya) Rahane is a class act. We know what (Cheteshwar) Pujara can do,” he said.

Shane Warne further added how the absence of Mohammed Shami is a huge one for the Indian side as he’s such a quality bowler. The conditions in Melbourne would’ve perfectly suited Mohammed Shami’s style of bowling which is why he will be a huge miss in the 2nd test.

“(Mohammed) Shami is a huge loss as well. He’s such a quality bowler. And if you look at bowlers for the Melbourne conditions, drop-in pitches, Shami hits the seam and stands it up and bowls a good length and straight.”
