Sheldon Jackson Donates To Gautam Gambhir Foundation To Fight COVID19

Amid the ongoing crisis in India due to coronavirus, Australian cricketer Pat Cummins has set an example after he donated $50000 to the PM Cares Fund. And now, after the KKR fast bowler, another KKR player Sheldon Jackson has contributed to help fight the virus.

The country is currently going through a grim situation. The number of positive cases have risen to over 300000 per day while the death toll is touching new highs with each passing day. There has been oxygen scarcity across the length and breadth of the country and the citizens are struggling hard to find a hospital bed.

In the wake of this, Australian cricketer Pat Cummins had urged other players to step forward and help the people. He also joined the fight donating $50000 to the PM Cares Fund to buy oxygen cylinders for the hospitals across the country.

“As players, we are privileged to have a platform that allows us to reach millions of people that we can use for good. With that in mind, I have made a contribution to the “PM Cares Fund”, specifically to purchase oxygen supplies for India’s hospitals,” said Cummins in his statement.

“I encourage my fellow IPL players — and anyone else around the world who has been touched by India’s passion and generosity — to contribute. I will kick off with $50,000,” he further adding asking his contemporaries to also step in and help India in the fight against COVID.

Sheldon Jackson makes a donation to the Gautam Gambhir Foundation

After Pat Cummins, now Kolkata Knight Riders player Sheldon Jackson has also made a donation to the Gautam Gambhir Foundation. This foundation is currently helping people fight the second wave of the pandemic by providing them with necessary equipment and healthcare.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time, Sheldon Jackson has come forwarded to help the COVID victims. During the first wave, Jackson was seen out on the roads helping people with food and water.

“In these difficult times for our beloved country, my heart goes out to everyone who is suffering. I pray that the good times return sooner rather than later. I request you all to please follow the SOPs as directed by the authorities, please stay home as much as possible and wear your masks at all times when you step outside.

“I have made a humble contribution towards the Gautam Gambhir Foundation (GGF) who are doing an excellent job in helping as many people as possible. I urge you all to do the same and donate whatever amount you can to your trusted fund or organization as every rupee counts the fight against COVID-19. Please stay safe and stay healthy!” he wrote in his statement posted on social media.

Kolkata Knight Riders currently sit at the 5th position. They have 4 points from 6 matches. KKR will be seen in action against the Delhi Capitals on Thursday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
