The cricketing world has been in a big shock just as the Netherlands beat South Africa in the T20 World Cup, which can be considered the tournament’s upset. Thus, South Africa, who were looking as one of the favourites to win the tournament has now been knocked out of the T20 World Cup, as India and Pakistan qualify for the semi-final.

However, Pakistan had tough luck qualifying for the T20 World Cup after their losses in the first two games against India and Zimbabwe as well. However, with successive wins over South Africa and Bangladesh, South Africa lost two back-to-back games against Pakistan and Netherlands, and they somehow qualified for the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-finals as the runner-up of the group.

Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar, in a video posted on his Twitter account, took a dig at the South Africans, and he thanked them for helping Pakistan qualify for the semi-final and referred to them out as chokers also.

“I just woke up. Thank you, South Africa. You guys are big chokers because you gave Pakistan another chance. It was a big favour. All Pakistan needs to do is just go out there and win this game,” Shoaib Akhtar said before Pakistan vs Bangladesh game commenced as well.

“Didn’t think Pakistan deserved this chance” – Shoaib Akhtar

However, Shoaib Akhtar also added that he didn’t think Pakistan could qualify for the semi-finals, and also hoped that an India vs Pakistan game takes place in the final.

“I didn’t think Pakistan deserved this chance after losing to Zimbabwe but Pakistan got a lifeline, a lottery. I think Bangladesh are great people but we need this World Cup, we need to see India once all over again,” Shoaib Akhtar concluded.
